While all of our ingredients are chosen because of the wonderful benefits they offer your skin, I do often gravitate to a few time and time again during product development. I've put together a list of my top five ingredients that give your skin a little extra love and make appearances in many of our products.
Rosehip CO2: I’ve talked about our love for Rosehip CO2 in the past, so it’s really no surprise that it’s on the top of this list! Rosehip CO2 one of the main ingredients of our Regenerative Facial Serum for a reason. It’s high in Vitamin A, Vitamin E, as well as Omega’s 3, 6, 9—all of which help to nourish skin, help prevent water loss and retaining moisture, which is essential for happy, healthy skin.
Lavender Essential Oil: This essential oil is mostly known for its calming properties but it’s also extremely healing and repairing. Lavender essential oil has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, which can reduce and soothe irritation. It’s also extremely gentle for all skin types which is why it's a key ingredient in our Repairing Body Oil. Our Body Oils make a great addition to any routine and the best way to apply them is to dewy skin just after your shower to lock in moisture!
Burdock Root: Often an unsung hero, Burdock Root is a bountiful resource of nutrients that can treat all kinds of ailments both internally and externally. Burdock Root contains Vitamins B and E in addition to its high mineral content which can soothe particularly dry and irritated skin. Burdock Root is also anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and promotes sweating which can be helpful in the body releasing toxins through the skin. I chose to use Burdock Root in both our Soothing Milk Bath and Detox Facial Mask for all of these reasons.
Shea Butter: Okay, so I’m pretty sure you’ve already heard all about how great shea butter is but there’s a reason we use this powerhouse moisturizer in our fan-favorite Coffee and Detox Scrubs. Shea butter is not only highly nourishing for your skin but it also offers a protective layer that’s not greasy or oily feeling. Shea has that “dry oil” effect and leaves your skin nourished, moisturized and ohhhh so soft. So much so, that after exfoliating with our scrubs, you don’t need an additional moisturizer!
Glycerin: A natural humectant that aids in drawing moisture deep into your skin. If water = hydration, what if you could add an ingredient that helps your skin to absorb water even better? That’s where glycerin comes in. Glycerin is a natural byproduct of the soap making process and is highly beneficial in helping to moisturize skin. Therefore all of our soaps have glycerin, moisturizing your skin as you cleanse instead of the common misconception that bar soap is drying. Additionally, you’ll find glycerin in our Hydrating Facial Toner which assists in your skin in absorbing the beneficial plant waters also in the product!
